Funeral services for Jimmy Medley, 77, of the Boma Community of Putnam County will be held Thursday, August 18 at 1 p.m. in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Smellage Memory Gardens. Bro. John Davis and Bro. Tim Sharp will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. until service time. Mr. Medley died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1934 in the Buffalo Valley community of Putnam County to the late Jim Bo and Macy (Medley) Medley. Jimmy was saved in the early 1960"�s and was baptized in the Shanks Hole near Buffalo Valley. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church and had been a member of Baxter First Baptist Church for over 30 years where he had served as song leader and deacon. He was a retired painter with Cookeville Industries with 25 years of service and he was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Kinniard Medley. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Maynard Medley of the Boma Community (whom he married January 1, 1998), two sons and daughters-in-law, Ladell & Karen Medley and Larry and Lisa Medley and four grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Medley and Chelsea and Christie Medley all of Silver Point. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
