BAXTER-Funeral services for James "JIM" Lloyd Watson, 85 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, December 18 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Tony Crow will officiate. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Watson died Saturday, December 14, 2019 in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. He was born September 22, 1934 in DeKalb County Tennessee to the late Grady and Sallie Nixon Watson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Jewel Price, Ruth Wilson, Carlene Helm and Lois Clemons, brothers Jim Grady Watson and Robert Carlon Watson. He was a cattleman, farmer, raised tobacco, trained mules and walking horses. He worked at Clemons Gulf in Silver Point for 35 years. For the last 34 years he has enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend and dancing partner, Betty Lewis. Survivors include daughters Debi Watson of Gordonsville, VA, Cindy Sellers of Portland, TN, son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Lisa Watson of Baxter, grandchildren: Katherine Buchman, Hannah Buchman Patel, Samuel Stubbs, Daniel Martin, Kalen Sellers, Michael Sellers, James Watson, Tessa Schahfer and Jeremiah Watson, great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Gabriella, Abel, Gavin, Mayah and Malachi. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 Wednesday at the funeral home.
