A memorial service for Mrs. Jeannette Lynn, age 94 of Cookeville, was held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Collegeside Church of Christ. Bros. John Nichols and Mike Palk officiated. Her family received friends Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church. A private family interment was held at Smyrna Cemetery. Mrs. Lynn died Friday July 23, 2021 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. Jeannette Crawford Lynn was born November 19, 1926 to the late Hugh Preston Crawford and Gertrude Officer Crawford in Livingston, TN at the home of her grandparents, Judge William Robinson Officer and Nannie Bell Windle Officer. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis, TN and obtained her BS degree from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Jeannette worked in Paris, TN as a UT Extension Agent where she met her husband, U L Lynn, Jr. (Tommy Lynn). Soon after marriage they moved to Cookeville in 1950 where they raised their family together for 52 years until her husband's death in 2002. She was precious to her family, teaching them by her example how to live a life that was pleasing to God and lovingly demanded their best from each one. She enthusiastically supported all of her children's, grandchildren's, and great-grandchildren's activities and was always very appreciative of every kindness shown to her. Second in devotion to her faith and family was support of her Cookeville community. Jeannette was a longtime Girl Scout leader of troop 212, 4-H supporter and Volunteer for the American Red Cross. She served as President of many organizations in Cookeville, working alongside others, giving of her time, talent and energy to the town she grew to love. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Lynn Coonce and her husband, Dr. Danny Coonce; her son, Thomas Crawford Lynn and his wife Kay French Lynn; grandchildren, Anne Lynn Coonce Minick (Brian Minick), Daniel Coonce, Jr. (Janet Gray Coonce), Benjamin Coonce (Jordan Davis Coonce), Rachel Jeannette Coonce (Meghan Workman Coonce), Patrick Lynn, Jack Lynn (Lindy Mason Lynn), Katherine Lynn Hill (Matt Hill), Bobby Lynn (Madison Borden Lynn); great-grandchildren, Emily Coonce, Sarah Coonce, Grace Minick, Jenna Minick, Rebecca Minick, Adelynn Coonce, Greylin Coonce, Everett Coonce, Pryce Lynn, Myers Lynn, Gracie Hill, Thomas Hamilton Lynn; nephews, Robin Crawford, Joseph Crawford, Jimmy Crawford; and one niece, Anne Lynn Crawford. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robin (Bob) Mahan Crawford and Hugh P Crawford, Jr. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Heritage Pointe Senior Living for their care and especially like to thank her devoted round the clock caregivers thru the years, Linda Mort, Renee Mott, Stephanie Gallagher, Maxine Smith, Christine Lee, Margaret Cody, Kathy Barenkamp, Kay Powell, Janie Allen, Darlene Spears and grandson Patrick Lynn.
