Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanette Roland Carter, 83 of Monterey, will be held Saturday, April, 16 at 1p.m. in the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Floyd officiating. Interment will follow at Whittaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Jeanette passed away Thursday morning, April 14, 2016 at her home. She was born June 28, 1932 in Monterey to the late Charlie Otis and Ann Jernigan Ford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Carter Jr.; two brothers, Ed and Alva Ford; and five sisters, Mary Lee Sliger, Edith Brown, Dimple Ford, Katie Phillips, and Mildred Brown. Jeanette was a homemaker for over 70 years. She started at a young age helping care for her siblings, and continued as a homemaker raising her own children, Patricia and Clyde. In later years it brought her great joy to help raise her three grandchildren, Michael, Adam, and Shane "Baby" West. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia West of Monterey; three grandsons, Michael West of Cookeville, Adam West and his wife Beth of Cookeville, Shane (Baby) West of Monterey; and six great-grandchildren.
