Graveside services and interment for Mr. James Elijah Parman, Jr., 89, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, February 11 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin, TN with Bro. Kelly Campbell officiating. Mr. Parman died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1922 in Davidson County, TN to the late James Elijah Parman, Sr. and Lena Roberts Parman. Mr. Parman was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army Air Forces. He was retired from the US Postal Service with over 35 years of service. He was a member of West Nashville Lodge #612 of Free & Accepted Masons. Mr. Parman was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Katharine Parman, Christine Fly, and Mildred Sugg. Mr. Parman is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edith Hogue Parman of Cookeville (whom he married January 31, 1942 in Athens, AL); son, James (Jim) Parman III and wife Mary of Aquilla, TX; two daughters, Faith Garner of Cookeville, and Susan Massey and husband John of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Tammie (Matt) Wright, Jimmy (Angie) Parman, Benjamin (Toni) Massey and Emily (Richard) McPhillips; four great grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Spencer Wright, Peyton Massey and Richie McPhillips. The family will receive friends Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children"�s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
