James Bratcher

Graveside services and Interment for James Carlon Bratcher, 90 of Cookeville will be Saturday, January 10 at 1 P.M. at Doyle Cemetery in Doyle, White County, Tn., Bro. Ted Kocher will officiate. Mr. Bratcher died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1924 in the Daylight Community of Warren County, TN. to the late John Houston and Minnie Elizabeth Lassiter Bratcher. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. After he was discharged from service he went to barber school in 1945. He later owned his own shop, Jim's Barber Shop in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Rhea Phifer Bratcher on May 6, 2010. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn Terry Roberts and Avery Roberts of Silver Point, TN., Sherry Lee Meyers and Karl Meyers of Warren, Mi., Grandson and wife Travis Lee and Melissa Roberts , two great-grandchildren: Merisa Roberts Shaeffer and husband Seth and Patton Hite all of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home, family and friends will gather at the cemetery with visitation at the cemetery following services.
