JACK HELM BAXTER-Funeral services for Jack Olen Helm, 89 of Silver Point, will be Sunday, October 10 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Leftwich Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Sunday until service time. Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate. Mr. Helm died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his home. He was born October 8, 1931 in DeKalb County to the late Tim Bob and Lassie Huddleston Helm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Kate Maxwell, Carmel Boles, Joyce Leftwich, and brother FD Helm. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jack was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church, where he has served as a deacon since 1975. He has been a carpenter for over 60 years, also worked at TVA-Hartsville Plant and Ross-Geer. Jack enjoyed fox hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include wife of 58 years (Married June 29, 1963) Keeble Burton Helm, son Barry Helm both of Silver Point, a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matthew Leftwich, Josh Tucker, Tim Helm, Keith Ray, Mark Kelly & Clint Halfacre. Baxter Chapel of HooperHhuddleston Horner funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)858-2134.
