Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Velma Wilmoth Barker, 88, of Cookeville will be held Monday, February 20th at 1p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Ray Wilmoth will officiate. Burial will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Barker died Thursday afternoon, February 16th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 17, 1923 in Gainesboro, TN to the late John Welch and Birchie May Petty Wilmoth. Mrs. Barker was a homemaker and a member of the Jere Whitson Road Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Dobbs and two brothers, Harold Wilmoth. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Jack Barker (whom she married March 29, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio); daughter, Jan Bryant all of Cookeville, sisters Johnnie Chastain of Midway, OH, and Margaret Wilmoth of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Chris and wife Kristie Bryant of Goodlettsville, TN, Jennifer and husband Anant Patel of Fort Worth, TX and Darren Dobbs of Groton, CT and Matthew Dobbs of Marietta, Ga; five great-grandchildren, Craig and Corey Oakley, and Cameron, Lexi, and Devon Patel, and one great-great grandchild, Bryson Oakley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Barker's family will receive friends on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm and again on Monday from 12 noon until time of the services at the funeral home.
