A Memorial service for Horace Jasper Pennington, 82, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday December 8th at 1pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Frank will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date at the Blue Springs Cemetery in White Co. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12pm until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Pennington died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born January 29, 1930 in Sparta, TN to the late George and Georgia Hickey Pennington. Mr. Pennington was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed going on the church"�s mission trips to Montana. He was a well known barber for a number of years and owned the Razor"�s Edge Barber Shop on 8th Street and Dixie Ave. He was also a regular at the breakfast men"�s group at Hardees. He had a love for horses and for showing Tennessee Walking Horses. He won awards and ribbons and participated in the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Pennington; and two sisters, Gene Lowery and Ruth Speck. He is survived by a daughter, Chrystal Mullins and husband Todd of Cookeville; son, Steve Pennington of California; two step-sons, Bill Hartbarger and wife Kelly of Lebanon, Ray Hartbarger and wife Alexandra of Cookeville; sister Anne Manson of Hermitage, TN; five grandchildren, Joann Nichols, Steve Pennington, Morgan Pennington, Brittany Pennington, and Taylor Pennington, and great-grandchildren including Evie Pennington. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Stevens Street Baptist Church Missions Fund, 269 S. Willow Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501
