Glen Richard Lowe, 64, of Cookeville, TN passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home. He was born November 23, 1948 in Rockwood, TN to the late Emmet and Annas Tredway Lowe. He graduated Cumberland County High School in 1966 and then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After being discharged, he continued his service in the U.S. Army National Guard for 18 years. He was a field representative for Woodmen of the World for 36 years and a member of many Woodmen of the World Lodges in the middle and east Tennessee area. He also was a member of East Tennessee Fraternal Corporation and worked with many other civic organizations throughout his community. Mr. Lowe was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Lowe is survived by his wife of 44 years Betty Lou Abels Lowe of Cookeville (whom he married August 17, 1968 in Daysville, TN); two sons and a daughter-in-law, Travis and Kelli Lowe of Crossville, and Erick Lowe of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Adrienne Lowe, Myka Lowe and Kandace Gibson; one brother, David Lowe of Westel, TN; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Larry Cook of Rockwood, TN, and Deanna Heck of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Terry Carter, Ray Crawhorn, Jim Southerland, Larry Allen, Shawn Carter and David Williams. Honorary pallbearers will by Ralph Lewis, Donald Alcorn, Gary Turner, Larry Cook, Joel Carter, Byron Tolbert, Milburn Proffitt, Ray Abel and Dave Johnstone. The family will receive friends Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (C.S.T.) at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday 11 a.m. (E.S.T.) until service time at Evans Mortuary. Funeral services for will be held Saturday, December 8 at 1 p.m. (E.S.T.) at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, TN. Rev. Jeff Jones will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Daysville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Angela Rae Williams Bible Fund at BB&T Bank, ?
