Funeral services for Mr. George Taylor Rawlston, 63, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, July 19 at 7 p.m. (C.S.T.) in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Lowhorn officiating. Graveside services and interment, with military honors, will be Friday July 20 at 4 p.m. (E.S.T.) in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Bristol, TN with Rev. Bobby Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Rawlston died Tuesday morning, July 17, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1949 in Bristol, TN to Nora Bernice Smith Rawlston Smith of Bristol, TN and the late Lloyd Taylor Rawlston. Mr. Rawlston was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He graduated from Blountville High School, attended East Tennessee State University, and later received his BS Degree in Business from both Bristol College and North Carolina State University. He has been associated with Perdue Farms, Inc (formerly Fast Food Merchandise) in Monterey for over 29 years where he was currently serving as Vice-President of Operations. He loved the outdoors along with boating and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alison Eldridge, sister, Christine Ramsey and a brother, Roy Rawlston. Mr. Rawlston is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Epperson Rawlston of (whom he married May 4, 1968 in Bristol); his mother and stepfather, Bernice and Gene Dotson of Bristol; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Amanda Rawlston of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Savannah Eldridge, Jacob Rawlston and Delaney Rawlston, brother and sister-in-law, Winston and Susan Rawlston of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Don Grissom, Doug Dickey, Richard Rateau, Jack Brandon, Jerry Layne and Tony Wilson.
