Gary Davis

Funeral services for Gary David Davis, 59 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday April 7th at 1pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tosh officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Shipley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4pm to 8pm and again Sunday from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Davis died suddenly Saturday March 30, 2013 in Gainesville, FL. He was born August 10, 1953 in Cookeville to the late Dave Thomas and Frances Lee Lambert Davis. Mr. Davis served country in the United States Navy as a Cargo Specialist in the 1970s and again in the 1990s in the Army National Guard in the 20th Support Special Forces at the Battalion Headquarters in Huntsville, AL. He also served on the Drug Task Force. He was employed as a truck driver and had previously worked at Russell Stover in Cookeville. Mr. Davis enjoyed gardening, birds, fish and wildflowers. He was also talented at refinishing furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Allyn Overton Davis. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Davis; five sons and daughters-in-law, David and Suzette Zeoli of Moss, TN, Gary and Jennifer Davis, Kurt and Teena Davis, Barry and Shelby Davis, all of Cookeville, and D.J. and Libby Leetch of Hampton, VA; eight grand-children, Katelynn Zeoli, Kylie Zeoli, Josie Davis, Isabella Davis, Wyatt Davis, Catherine Leetch, Christian Leetch, and Shaylynn Harris; brother, Randy Davis; and cousins David and Bobbie Harris. Pallbearers will be his sons and his cousin David Harris.
