Frances Matthews

Funeral services for Frances Elese Matthews, 60, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 am Tuesday, October 23, at Paran United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Peak and Rev. Danny Whitson officiating. Interment will follow at Paran Cemetery. Mrs. Matthew"�s family will receive friends Monday from 4 "� 8 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, and again Tuesday from 10 am until service time at the church. Mrs. Matthews died Friday, October 19, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born September 22, 1952 to Beatrice Walker Ledbetter Huddleston of Cookeville and the late Glen Willard Ledbetter. Mrs. Matthews was a member of Paran United Methodist Church. She was retired Hix Brothers Tractor Service with over 22 years of service as bookkeeper. She was a loving, family-oriented wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored all of her grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hershel and Doris Matthews. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Loren Matthews (whom she married August 4, 1970 in Algood, TN); two sons and daughter-in-law, Daren Matthews, Patrick & Becky Matthews; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Patrick Short; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Ledbetter, Jerry & Janie Ledbetter; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda& Donny Kimes; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Emilee, Bailey, Elijah, Isaac Matthews, Kaylee and Madelynn Short, and granddaughter, Allison Elese Matthews expected in December; special friends, Judy Greenwood, Sandra Ward, Donna Peak and Jennifer Sauer. Pallbearers will be Sam Brown, Tim Brown, Alan Brown, Brandon Smith, Eddy Haynes, and Jim Short.
