Frances "Frankie" Owen

Funeral services for Frances "FRANKIE" Mae Owen, 83 of Baxter, were held Saturday, August 7 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community. Bro. Herb Leftwich officiated. The family received friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Owen died Tuesday August 3, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 20, 1938 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Delbert and Gladys Fry Clemens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by step-mother Dorothy Clemens sister Marilyn Stricker, son Michael Liggett, daughter Michele Burgess. Frankie worked as a server at Cracker Barrel for 13 years before retiring. She enjoyed baking for others, gardening, crafting and taking care of grandchildren/great-grandchildren. Survivors include sister Betty (Tom) Strantz of Plymouth, IN, children: SuSu Franklin of Murfreesboro, Lisa (Jody) Swindle of Westmoreland, Patrick Liggett of Mexico, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, special companion Larry Leftwich, pet dog Boomer. Pallbearers were John Ramsey, Andrew Holmes, Logan Palmer, Jeremy Teems, JD Burgess, Dustin Stanton, David Nabors.
