Estelle Brooks

Funeral services for Mrs. Zora Estelle Brooks, 85 of Cookeville, will be held Friday July 26 at 1 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Corey Price will officiate. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 pm until 8 pm and Friday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Brooks died Monday morning July 22, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born April 9, 1928 in Putnam Co. to the late Arthur Hickman and Vallie Wade Thompson Boyd. Mrs. Brooks was employed as a factory worker. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband I.B. Brooks and by seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Sue Perkins of Baxter; four grandchildren and their spouses, Suzanne and Tim Jones, Kim and John Sliger, Shane and Kim Gantt and Chad and Ruby Gantt; eight great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Sophie. John Sliger, Shane Gantt, Chad Gantt, Tim Jones, Bret Jones, Blake Sliger and Caleb Gantt will serve as pallbearers.
