Funeral services for Emma Jean Anderson, 87, of Silver Point, were held Saturday, August 14 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community. Bro. Dan Huddleston officiated. The family received friends Friday from 5 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her home. She was born April 19, 1934 in Putnam County to the late Anthony and Levora Bennett Whitehead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Anderson; son, Ricky Allen Smith; granddaughter, Lisa Dyer Hieatt; sisters, Katie Robinson, Dean Chaffin, Cleo Whitehead, Alice Abney and Viola Ramsey; brothers, Virgil and Sam Whitehead. She was a member of Baxter Crossroads Church of God. Emma enjoyed working in her flowers, cooking for family, reading her Bible, visiting the sick and shut-ins. She was a retired associate with Russell Stover Candies and had worked in some of the local nursing homes. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Stewart of Cookeville; son, Delbert Smith of Silver Point; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were Tyler Phillips, Trent Chandley, Trevor Hieatt, Jason Smith, Nick, Lee & Chris Stanze.
