Elizabeth Ward

Private graveside services and interment for Mrs. Elizabeth Ward, age 85 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Maynard Cemetery in the Cherry Hill community of Dekalb County. Randall Phillips and Rev. Ryan Barnhart will officiate. Mrs. Ward died Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 21, 1934 in the Cherry Hill community to the late Dan and Clarcie Whitehead Maynard. Elizabeth worked as an associate at the former Teledyne Stillman for many years. Following her time there, she worked in environmental services at Cookeville Regional Medical Center where she had many friends. Elizabeth was a loving and sacrificial caretaker throughout her life and was a longtime member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Zenira Maynard, Sue Williams, and Margaret Truan; and by brothers, Thurman, Truman, Reed and Daniel Maynard. Mrs. Ward is survived by sister, Geraldine (Rellon) Phillips of Cookeville; brother, Eulas (Connie) Maynard of Lebanon, TN; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
