David Timothy Barefield

Funeral services for David Timothy Barefield, 65 of Cookeville, will be Sunday, August 23 at 2 PM at the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 PM and after 12 Noon Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Bobby Davis will officiate. Mr. Barefield died Friday August 21, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1954 in Waynesboro, Georgia to Robert "Bob" and Lela Eller Barefield of Cookeville. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Norvel Joe Eller and Mary Jane Choate Eller and paternal grandparents Robert S. Barefield and Mary Alvarene Ellison Barefield. David was a Quality Control Supervisor with ShirokiNA in Smithville, TN. for 13 years. He was formerly with Genco of Cookeville for 30 years. He was a loving husband, Christian, godly man who loved his Lord and a true patriot. He enjoyed playing softball, playing and listening to music and relaxing in the Smokies. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his parents include wife Sabrina Newman Barefield of Cookeville, son and daughter-in-law JoDonn and Sarah Jared of Cookeville, brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Lorie Barefield of Cookeville, grandchildren: Bryleigh Jared and Bray Jared, mother and father-in-law Linda and Phillip Newman of Cookeville, several nieces and nephews.
