Funeral Services for Mr. David Earl Bohannon, 96 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday 26, at 11 a.m. in Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey. Bro. Freddie Copeland will officiate. Mr. Bohannon died Saturday evening November 23, 2013 in Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center in Monterey. He was born May 7, 1917 in the Dry Valley Community of Putnam County, Tennessee to the late David Officer and Cecil Elizabeth Bartlett Bohannon. He retired from Goodyear in Akron, OH. After moving back to Cookeville he retired a second time as Supervisor in the Department of Inspection and Tool Engineering at McCord's. He was a 65 year member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517 F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Akron. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Bohannon was a loving, devoted, and faithful husband to his late wife of 69 years, Dorothy Verble Bohannon, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2006. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Agnes Goff and two brothers, Charles Bohannon and Wesley Bohannon. Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Marie Officer of Hermitage, TN and several nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews and other extended family members. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Bohannon's family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. .
