Daren Matthews

Funeral services for Daren Paul Matthews, age 49 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday May 27 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Danny Whitson will officiate. Interment will follow at Paran Cemetery. His family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Daren passed away Monday May 23, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1972 in Cookeville to Loren Matthews of Cookeville and the late Frances Ledbetter Matthews. Daren was served as a crew chief in the US Air Force. He worked at Tutco with over 20 years of service. Daren loved his family especially his grandson. In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughters, Alyssa (Jordan) Reeder of Smithville and Emilee Matthews of Cookeville; sister, Jennifer (Patrick) Short; brother, Patrick (Becky) Matthews all of Cookeville; and grandson, Raylan Reeder. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herschel and Doris Matthews; and maternal grandparent, Willard Ledbetter and Beatrice Ledbetter Huddleston.
