Curt Hawkins

Funeral services for Curtis Harold Hawkins, 79 of Algood, will be held Wednesday at 7 pm in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Bond will officiate. Graveside service and interment will take place Thursday at 10:30 am at Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hawkins died Monday, July 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 25, 1933 in Clay County, TN to the late Shirley and Myrtle Ann Stover Hawkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Billy Ray Hawkins and infant brother, Bobby Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army, and was retired from the US Postal Service with 30 years of service. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Whitehead Hawkins (whom he married June 4, 1961 in Hohenwald, TN); son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marsha Hawkins of Algood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Mike Davidson, Alice and Jeff Peek all of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Molly Davidson and Rachel Davidson; and two nieces, Melissa Barnik and husband Marcus, and Andrea Styles.
