Claryce Ferrell

Funeral services for Mrs. Claryce Elaine Kelly Ferrell, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Friday May 25th, at 1 p.m. at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Max Mayo and Rev. Drew Shelley will officiate. Mrs. Ferrell died Tuesday evening May 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 1, 1931 in Whitwell, Tennessee to the late Rixey Norwood and Edna Lewis Kelly. She was a graduate of Whitwell High School in Whitwell, TN; and attended Tennessee Tech. She was married to Zollie Ferrell for 55 years. Mrs. Ferrell was a homemaker and assisted her husband, Dr. Zollie Ferrell, with his dental practice. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Ladies Golf Association at the Cookeville Country Club. Enjoyed playing in pro/amateur tournaments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Zollie Ferrell; son, David Ferrell; brother, Rixey Norwood Kelly, Jr.; and half-brother, Dana Kelly. Survivors include a son, Zollie M. Ferrell Jr.; of Dominican Republic two daughters, Susan Colson and husband Terry of Cookeville, Jill Long and husband Bruce of Mt. Juliet; five grandchildren, Terry Weber Jr., Lindsey (Paul) Alexander, Kelly Ferrell, Allison Long and Bradley Long; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Burton, Carson Weber, Gauge Weber and Noah Alexander; three nephews, Rixey Norwood Kelly III, Paul Kelly, and Mark Kelly; sister-in-law, Anne Hogue Kelly; and half-sister, Kathy Kelly. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the God"�s Grace Food Pantry or the Angel"�s Attic ministries at Cookeville First United Methodist Church, 165 E. Broad St, Cookeville, TN 38501. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner and again on Friday from 12 p.m. until service time at the church.
