Christine Draper

Funeral services for Hallie Christine Draper, age 93 of Cookeville, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday May 13 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. James Rogers officiated the service. Interment followed at Smyrna Cemetery. Her family received friends Wednesday from 5 -7 p.m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Christine passed away Sunday evening May 9, 2021 at Smith County Health and Rehabilitation in Carthage, TN. She was born July 13, 1927 in Mayland, TN to the late Charlie Clarence Boatman and Lillian Aline Davidson Boatman. Their family moved to Cleveland, OH for a number of years before coming back to settle in Algood, TN. She was a farm wife and Mother who was an excellent cook, a decorator and avid artist. She loved to entertain at her home for friends and family. She enjoyed helping the children of the area with Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom. Christine was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. She was retired from GTE with over 35 years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Dudley of Destin, FL and Mary Anne (Doug) Rush of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Erin Dudley, Brittany (Jeremy) Nash, and Weston (Tiffany) Dudley; and three great grandchildren, Draper Nash, Jackson Nash, and Hallie Dudley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lynn Draper; and a sister, Mary Emmeline Howard.
