Charter "C.M." Harris

-Funeral services for Mr. Charter Mitchell "C.M."� Harris, Jr., 82 of Cookeville will be held Friday, March 2 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with his nephew, Jo Jo Matheney officiating. Interment, withmilitary honors, will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Harris died Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at his home. H e was born October 10, 1929 in Putnam County, TN to the late Charter Mitchell and Lilly May Maxwell Harris, Sr. Mr. Harris was a member of McBroom Chapel Church of Christ. He was retired from the City of Cookeville Electric Department with over 30 years service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Woodmen of the World Cookeville Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Harris, Draper Harris and Grady Harris. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edith Mackie Harris (whom he married May 26, 1953 in Cookeville, TN); daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Roy Hall of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Hunter and Trace Hall; sister, Evelyn Galbraith of Lebanon, TN; and a sister-in-law, Johnnie Pearl Matheney of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
