Funeral services for Mr. Charles Dewyane Tollett, 71, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, August 18, at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Turner officiatine. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gary Turner will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Tollett died peacefully Thursday morning, August 16, 2012 at his home. He was born July 25, 1941 in Putnam County, TN to the late Marvin Woodrow and Nell Aliene Henry Tollett. Mr. Tollett was a devoted member of the Baptist faith. He was honored to serve three years in the U.S. Army with eighteen months spent in Korea. He was best known for his love of restoring old cars and motorcycles and being a professional mechanic. His career was loved and well spent where he retired after 30 years of service at TVA. Mr. Tollett was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patty Robinson Tollett (whom he married February 8, 1977 in Putnam County); two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Lesley Tollett of Lexington, KY and Marc Tollett of Cookeville; two daughters, Alicia Schavon Tollett and Carlene Mills both of Cookeville and twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Randolph of Nashville and Comaleta Looper of Lafayette, TN; a brother, Carlos Tollett of Murfreesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bob Brady, Dwight Herald, Mitchel Smith, Donnie Benson, Shannon Tollett, Tyler Tollett and Chris Randolph.
