Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edwin Hassell, Sr., 93, of Cookeville will be held Monday, April 30 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with graveside services and interment to follow at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, TN with John Wright, Hillier Duke and Allen Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hassell died Friday morning, April 27, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born June 24, 1918 in Dickson County, TN to the late James Brake and Minnie Warfield Hassell. Mr. Hassell was a member of First Christian Church. He retired from B.F. Goodrich in Clarksville with 42 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Davis Hassell and a son, Charles Edwin Hassell, Jr., two brothers, Floyd Hassell and Eugene Hassell; five sisters, Cordie Hassell, Madeline Lyle, Wilda Hickerson, Jewel Davis and Ella B Binkley. Mr. Hassell is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Camille and Steve Cihat and Edwina and Don McCaslin all of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Cindy (Kevin) Rose, Jim McCaslin, Elizabeth McCaslin, Laura McCaslin and Suzanna (Daniel) Ivey and Sarah Cihat; five great grandchildren, Will and Sam Rose, Megan, Macsen and Cy Thomas Ivey, special friends, Lucian and Minerva Wyatt and Red and Bonnie Ray. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Pallbearers will be Don McCaslin, Jim McCaslin, Daniel Ivey, Bill Binkley, Will Binkley, Sam Binkley, Ken Stone, and Bo Stanfill.
