Charles Bohannon

Graveside services and interment for Charles Beecher Bohannon, 89, of Sparta will be held Sunday, July 24 at 2p.m. at the Bohannon Cemetery in the Calfkiller Community of Putnam County. Bro. John Lawson will officiate. Mr. Bohannon died Friday morning, July 22, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1922 in White Co., TN to the late David Officer and Cecil Bartlett Bohannon. Mr. Bohannon was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer and was known as a hard working man. He was a member of the Big Springs Church of Christ and the American Legion In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother, Wesley Bohannon, a sister, Agnes Goff, and a grandson, David Kelly Bohannon. Mr. Bohannon is survived his wife of sixty four years, Mattie Pearl Stewart Bohannon (whom he married May, 20, 1947 in Rossville, GA), son, Myles Bohannon and wife Charlotte of Sparta; brother, David Earl Bohannon of Cookeville; sister, Marie Officer of Hermitage, TN; granddaughter, Constance (Louie) Medley of Smithville; and great-grandson, Mason Medley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
