Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lewis "Bob"� Maddux, 89 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday August 9 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Salem Cemetery. Rev. Lynn Bullock and Rev. Marvin Saylors will officiate. Mr. Maddux died Saturday morning August 6, 2011 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 30, 1921 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Ernest and Moncie Leftwich Maddux. He was a member of Salem Methodist Church, and the Algood Senior Citizens. While attending high school he joined the former Cookeville Horse Calvary and in his senior year entered the U. S. Army. During World War II he served with the 240th and 181st Field Artillery in the European Theater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Aline Ray Maddux; brother, Gilbert Maddux; and two sisters, Kathleen Maddux and Peggy Maddux. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy & Rob Sexton, JR of King George, VA; sister, Mable Lane of Cookeville; nephew, James Maddux of Dayton, OH; and two nieces, Darlene (Dane) Marrs of Tip City, OH, and Pauline Maddux of Dayton, OH. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Algood Senior Citizens by contacting the funeral home. Mr. Maddux"�s family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
