Funeral services for Mr. Billie "Bill" Franklin Roberson, 88 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday August 5 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro Tommy Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mr. Roberson died Thursday afternoon July 31, 2014 in Bethesda Health Care Center. He was born October 7, 1925 in Algood, Tennessee to the late John Harvey and Mary Adkins Roberson. He was retired from Massey-Ferguson Tractors; of the Freewill Baptist Faith; and a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre on the USS TELFAIR APA 210. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia Bilbrey, Pearl Brown, and Maude Stover; and two brothers, Rev. Douglas Roberson and John H. Roberson. Survivors include his wife of 58 years (whom he married October 8, 1955 in Detroit, MI), Mildred Benson Roberson; and god-son, Eric Herbert of Marysville, Michigan. Pallbearers will be family and friends. His family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
