Bill Brooks

Memorial Services for William Robert Brooks, age 81, of Cookeville, will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday October 16 at Unity Church of the Cumberlands. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of services at the church. Bill passed away suddenly Thursday October 11, 2018 at his home. He was born July 13, 1937 in Aberdeen, SD to the late Claude and Ethel Wilson Brooks. Bill was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Unity Church of the Cumberlands and was proud of over 35 years of sobriety. He was a loving, devoted husband and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his 3 fur babies, Earl, Flynn, and his newest rescue, Lexi. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Moon Brooks; son, Scott (Becky) Brooks of Orlando, FL; daughter, Wanda Sherry (Jim) Gardiner of Fallon, NV; grandchildren, Tracy Brooks, Anita and Chris Gardiner, Clyde, Kim, and Sara Smith; great-grandson, Ty Brooks; and nieces, Belita Wood and Dawn Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Smith; brothers, Joseph, Edward, Donald, and Allen Brooks; sisters, Irene Hubert, Claudine Gilborne, and Ione Livingston; and step-daughter, Amanda Moon.
