Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Dean Carmack, 57 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday July 18 at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Overton County. Rev. Mike Gillock and Rev. Roger Cooper will officiate. Mrs. Carmack died Tuesday morning July 16, 2013 in Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born October 19, 1955 in Cookeville to the late Rev. John H. Allen and Dora Frances Allen. She was a life-long member of Knights Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She worked in Medical Records for Cookeville Regional Medical Center and several area doctors. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jimmy Carmack (whom she married November 23, 1979 in Cookeville); daughter, Anna Carmack; granddaughter, Kaylie Myler; brother, Glen Allen all of Cookeville; two nieces, Tephany (Terry) Randolph of Cookeville and Shannan (David) Brown of Indiana; and four great nieces and nephews, Austin Bates, Paige Baker, Cody Allen and Mariah Lennox. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Carmack"�s family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
