Funeral services for Ashley Beth Sweat, age 29 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, February 13th at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor David Corley and Bro. Doug Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Ashley's family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born August 25, 1986 in Cookeville to Tracy (wife Emma) Sweat and Kim Samon Sweat (Jeff Randolph). Ashley will forever be remembered as a good hearted person who loved to laugh, even at herself. She was warm and bubbly and was always smiling. She was a caretaker to her family and friends, and loved to sing along to any song she knew to cheer people up. She was especially proud of the work she did at her family business, Tracy Sweat Auto Sales. Ashley grew up playing softball, basketball and cheerleading, and her coaches would attest she was known for her aggressiveness and determination. She was a cheerleading coach for Cookeville Youth Football & Cheerleading for many years and touched many young girls' lives. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Taylor Godwin. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Tierra Jade Godwin and Trey Godwin; sisters, Rachel (Scott) Duvall of Columbia, TN, Kristi Allen, Allison Brady, Caitlin Brady, all of Cookeville, Deidre (Josh) Brady of Memphis, TN, and Ashley Brady of Lawrenceburg, TN; step-sisters Taska (Tony) Morelock of Knoxville, TN, and Nikki Randolph of Johnson City, TN; step-brother Jeffrey (Angela) Randolph, of Johnson City, TN; paternal grandparents, Burt and Judy Sweat and maternal grandparents, Jerry and Sharon Samon, all of Cookeville; nieces Ella Duvall and Haven Crawford; nephews, Mason and Tyson Allen; and a special cousin, Bobby Bilbrey.
