Funeral services for Alta Aileen King, age 90, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday March 17 at 11 a.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Warren will officiate. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Nashville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Mrs. King passed away Saturday morning March 14, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born April 27, 1929 in Olive Hill, KY to the late Roman and Marjorie Galford McGlone. Mrs. King was a homemaker. She attended Faith Chapel Church in Baxter. She is survived by her sons, John Newton Jr. (Betty) of Curtice, OH, Ronnie King (Carla Wilson) of Cookeville, and Roy "Butch" King (Tammy) of Cookeville; daughter, Charlotte Carol (RJ) of Louisville, KY; sister, Eidie McGlone of Oregon; grandchildren, Bridgett Shannon Sink, Tara McNatt; Joe Newton, Stephanie Witter, Shane Newton, Angela Newton, Samantha Grimm, Michael King, Amy Blair, and Kris Power; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon King; son, Elmer "Skip" King, sisters, Darlene McGlone, Alice McGlone, Alfie Richburg; and brother, Earl McGlone.
