Funeral services for Mr. A. V. Farley, 83, of Cookeville will be held Monday, April 30 at 3:00 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Mark Gaw will officiate. Mr. Farley died Friday afternoon April 27, 2012 at his home. He was born April 6, 1929 and was the son of the late Claude Lee and Vallie Ann Wright Farley. He was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He was a retired Supervisor with Cookeville Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, J.B. Farley and brother, Ray Farley, three sisters, Claudine Martin, Dot Howard, and Genell Newman and great-grandson, Chandler Jenkins. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Thelma Dixon Farley (whom he married October 30, 1948 in Rossville, GA); two daughters, Lesa Dillon and Patsy Jenkins both of Cookeville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted (Barbara) Farley of Murfreesboro and Jere (Nora) Farley of Cookeville; one sister and brother-in-law, Edith (Dan) Verble of Cookeville; five grandchildren: Jenny Jenkins, Patrick Hershel Jenkins, Rachel Dillon, Nathan Dillon, and Shawn Dillon; seven nephews: Gary Farley, Jere David Farley, Timmy Farley, Tyler Verble, Larry Farley, Jim Martin, and Alan Farley; two nieces, Rhonda Pennington and Debbie Farley. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Patrick Hershel Jenkins, Nathan Dillon, Shawn Dillon, Larry Farley, Tyler Verble, Timmy Farley and Jere David Farley.
